See a demo of Vulcan

Vulcan® Integration Partners

Vulcan software works with numerous cutting tables, coil lines, water jets, and CAD/estimating programs. This versatility is often one of Vulcan's most important features, especially if you already have a fully operational shop and just want to change cutting software. Want to know if Vulcan will work with what you own? Check the tabs below to see if your equipment is listed.

Insulation

Insulation Cutting

Increase one of the slowest processes in your shop without changing the natural blank flow. Traditionally, insulating a blank is the last part of the cutting process. With Vulcan's Insulation On Demand software, you keep the same flow as if you're cutting by hand. Simply scan the bar code on the metal blank label as it arrives at the insulation cutting table. As more blanks are scanned, the software continuously re-optimizes the blanks until the desired insulation size is filled.

Vulcan software is designed to cut all types of insulation fast and accurately. Seam and connector allowances are automatically applied, including oversize blanks. Barcoding makes sorting simple and saves insulation material. Touch screen view of the optimized blanks lets you maintain total control.

WaterJet

The Lockformer 1600 Water Jet is the fastest and most flexible way to cut insulation. The 1600 can cut at 900-1000 inches per minute and 2000 inches per minute transverse speed.

With today's changing specifications concerning insulation, this machine gives you the diversity to cut all insulation types, from short fibered, long fibered, duct board and closed cell rubber insulation (K-Nomaco Flex).

Routers and Knives do not cut through the closed cell insulation and neither do coil lines, yet hospitals, churches, and public buildings seem to be specifying this material more and more. With Vulcan software, you can put the straight runs of internally insulated duct on the water jet and cut those sections at 900 inches per minute. Try cutting a huge job manually with NO optimization of an expensive material. Speed and diversification of materials that a water jet can cut, make it a profitable alternative to cutting with routers and knives.

Ask yourself what types of jobs you perform. The industry is changing, and you need to be prepared for a long term decision about machine tools.

Find out the cost difference between the Nomaco Flex vs. 1 1/2" Duct Liner. The market has gone to R-8 or 1 1/2" insulation, which is even more reason to buy the water jet as the routers and knives have a really tough time cutting through thicker insulations. 1" Insulation or R-6 used to be the norm and the routers and knives could perform on those insulations fine. Once again the MARKET dictates the decision.
