12/28/2007 - QuickPen Releases DuctDesigner 3D 2008 v2

Englewood, Colo., December 28, 2007 - QuickPen International today announced the release of DuctDesigner 3D 2008 v2. Among other enhancements, this release gives users the ability to easily add dampers to their 3D models of HVAC systems.

With DuctDesigner 3D 2009 v2, dampers can now be inserted into most duct and fittings, including Rectangular Single Blade Dampers, Rectangular Multi Blade Dampers, Round Single Blade Dampers, and Oval Single Blade Dampers. After a damper has been inserted, it can be moved within straights area of fittings or moved to a new host entity.

Connector selection has also been improved. Based on user-specified settings, connectors for certain entities may not always be compatible. When users attempt to place connectors that are mismatched to the entities, a dialog box now displays providing a selection of compatible connectors.

This release also enhances the product's annotation capabilities to allow piece numbers to be drawn inside a circle or oval shape to set them apart from other annotations.
