03/25/2008 - QuickPen International Announces PipeDesigner 3D 2008 v2New Release Includes Fitting Cut In, Autorouting Enhancements, Autodesk 2008 Compatibility Englewood, Colo., March 25, 2008 - QuickPen International today announced the release of PipeDesigner 3D 2008 v2, a major product update providing a wide range of enhancements including quick fitting cut in and streamlined autorouting. The new fitting cut in capabilities allow users to quickly and easily insert a fitting into a straight run of pipe by simply dragging it to the proper location within the pipe. When the fitting is properly oriented, Pipe Designer 3D automatically "breaks" the pipe, inserts the fitting, and adds any required connectors and gaskets. Enhancements to PipeDesigner 3D's autorouting functionality allow detailers to use a selected fitting numerous times in a route without having to select the fitting each time. By selecting a check box in the fitting selection window, users can direct the autorouter to use the selected fitting each time it encounters a similar situation in a route. Also, additional fitting classes can now be autorouted, including tees and crosses. "QuickPen is delighted to bring these exceptional productivity enhancements to our PipeDesigner 3D customers," said QuickPen Product Manager Stacy Zerr. "We are constantly working to provide our customers with the tools they need to be more productive." Additional new features in PipeDesigner 3D 2008 v2 include the creation of long runs of pipe as separate drawing entities, faster entity regeneration, and the ability to copy and paste blocks of PipeDesigner 3D entities from one drawing to another. This release also provides compatibility with Autodesk 2008 products including AutoCAD™ 2008, AutoCAD™ Architecture and AutoCAD™ MEP.
