After a rich history of providing estimating, fabricating, and CAD solutions for nearly 30 years, QuickPen International was purchased by Trimble Navigation in early 2009.   The acquisition was the next step in the evolution of the QuickPen organization, providing a unique dedication to the BIM process driven by the synergy between Trimble and the QuickPen product offerings.

As a division within the larger Trimble organization, QuickPen continues to maintain its leadership status within the mechanical construction and plumbing industries, providing a complete line of estimating, CAD, fabrication, construction layout, and tool & equipment management solutions to make contractors more efficient, more productive and more profitable. QuickPen serves thousands of customers in the United States, Canada and Australia and is located in Englewood Colorado.

In early 2010, nearly a year after the Trimble acquisition, QuickPen was selected to join the newly created BIM to Field Alliance.  Spearheaded by Trimble, the alliance is focused on helping building owners, contractors, and engineers better understand the potential of solutions that allow the transfer of BIM data to field level systems for increased productivity and cost savings.  QuickPen is joined by a host of solution providers such as Accubid, Micro Application Packages LTD (MAP), Tekla, Trimble, Technical Sales International (TSI) and Vela Systems.

Later in 2010, QuickPen’s annual user conference was included in Trimble’s Dimensions user conference in Las Vegas Nevada.  The Dimensions event garnered more than 2,900 registered attendees from 67 countries around the world and explored the use of technology in a wide range of applications including surveying, engineering, construction, mapping, GIS, geospatial, utilities and mobile resource management.

Backed by the strength of the Trimble brand and respective leadership in the Building Construction industry, QuickPen continues to look ahead, pushing the envelope by creating compelling software solutions for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing trades for years to come.
